about

Where ‘Crime Of The Century’ was a bold, aggressive statement to kick-start the EP, ‘Safe’ is the first exploration of a more intimate side to Count Dodo, mired in the clutches of anxiety and agoraphobia. It is a song that addresses themes of isolation and the fear of leaving somewhere that has become a safe haven from the world.

lyrics

It’s difficult
It’s difficult to save a life
It’s difficult
We’re safe and sound
Safe and sound when tucked up at night
Then she comes and sets it alight

To tell the truth I don’t like safe
But oh I savour your taste
When she burns he takes my place
In so quenching her flame

A miracle
A miracle we’re even alive
A miracle
I’m getting old
Getting old before my own eyes
Trapped in this timeline of mine

To tell the truth I don’t like safe
But oh I savour your taste
When she burns he takes my place
In so quenching her flame

Save me
Save me from safe

To tell the truth I don’t like safe
But oh I savour your taste
When she burns he takes my place
In so quenching her flame

about

The Fangs of the Dodo Bath, UK

“The Fangs of the Dodo are a rag-tag gang of violent
criminals led by the vampire Count Dodo on a mission
to conquer the Rock world. Described by some as Art
Pop meets Goth Rock, it is said that no one has ever
survived a Fangs concert to tell the tale. It is fabled
that their electrifying stage show is a sight to behold,
even if it might be your last. Don’t miss it.”
